Solar Options for Schools, which manages all our day to day operations, recently released its latest impact report capturing the 2025 impact across participating schools.

The report highlights the impact across all the schools Solar for Schools manages, including 215 owned by the CBS.

In the report you'll see that, on average, schools reduce their energy consumption by 30% after they’ve had solar installed, demonstrating that the impact goes beyond the savings with the panels themselves but that we are seeing behaviour change through awareness and through Solar for Schools inspiring education programme.

£2.5 million has been saved in energy bills over the last 5 years by the schools that have benefited and almost 40,000 pupils have been directly engaged through workshops and assemblies with 180,000 students having access to bespoke educational content.

"From engineering to data science, education and sustainability leadership — the green sector is thriving, and schools play a key role in inspiring the next generation to join it... Quite simply, we want students to be inspired, be involved and ultimately be part of the change".
